2025 National Self-Direction Conference: Virtual Series
This panel discussion will address the negative narrative and concerns about fraud, waste and abuse (FWA) in self-direction. We will share some best practices around program integrity as well as highlight real-world examples of how self-direction leaders in Arkansas and New Jersey have addressed FWA concerns head-on with meaningful results. The discussion with take a deep dive into proactive program integrity practices being used in self direction, how stakeholders are invested in making the functioning program better and how to work together to sustain the program long term. The panel will discuss best practices to protect the self direction model and how to build initiatives within the program to protect people and improve health outcomes.
