We are pleased to announce that the AARP Public Policy Institute has released our report, Paying Family Caregivers to Provide Care during the Pandemic-and Beyond, as part of AARP's LTSS Choices series to transform long-term care.
Applied Self-Direction collaborated with AARP on this report to investigate how COVID-19 has changed the landscape of caregiving and opened doors for family members to become paid caregivers through the Appendix K. As Appendix K’s begin to expire, we hope to see many programs adopting these changes permanently, as we know how valuable it is to receive personal care from those you know and trust.
This report includes statistics on the presence of paid family caregiving nationwide, cost analysis of self-directed care compared to nursing homes, and details regarding paid family caregiving opportunities by program.
