This is the final report in a four-part series about Connecticut’s aging population and the challenges in finding ways to care for people. More people are aging in place. But the state’s home care industry operates with little oversight. Just over one-third of the homemaker companion agencies participate in a state-funded Medicaid waiver program called the Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders. Those agencies are subject to some additional quality checks and audits from a fiscal intermediary. Read the full article.
