Disability services survive threatened cuts, but families still worried about the future

This is part 2 of a 2-part series about the challenges of navigating self-directed services, a disability care model. Moore released his $67.3 billion budget proposal for fiscal year 2026 on Jan. 15, amidst a projected $3 billion deficit for the state. That proposal would fill in the deficit and leave Maryland with a positive cash balance of $106 million. It also included millions in cuts to the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).
