New law supports home care, caregivers for military Veterans

On January 2, 2025, President Biden signed into law the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act. Through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), this new legislation aims to enhance Veterans’ access to home and community-based service (HCBS) programs, including expanding Veteran Directed Care. The Act also recognizes the critical role that caregivers play in ensuring the well-being of Veterans and seeks to provide them with better support and resources.
