Bipartisan bill introduced in TN legislature to let family caregivers get paid through TennCare

A bipartisan-supported bill that advocates said could address a difficult decision Tennessee families often have to make was introduced into the legislature Friday. The Tennessee Disability Coalition said for years, TennCare effectively barred family caregivers from being paid, "even when the state has failed to provide promised home- and community-based services." The coalition said it worked with lawmakers to introduce HB 0712, which would require TennCare to develop guidelines for service providers to hire qualified family members as family caregivers.
